When I asked Charlotte and Johnny from Sweden what their ceremony meant to them, they immediately replied, ‘The opportunity to express our gratitude for the gift of life… and to celebrate it with those who mean the most!’
Charlotte had recently been given the all clear after bravely facing cancer whilst Johnny was dealing with the sad loss of his Father to the same disease. A year on they wished to hold a Celebration of Life Ceremony blended with a personalised wedding blessing.
They held their ceremony in surroundings of Tuscan rustic splendour. Le Fonti a San Giorgio in Montespertoli is not far from Florence and offered peace and tranquility. Blessed by Tuscan sunlight and rapturous applause, they publicly declared their wish to be each other’s guiding star and source of light.
A series of highly unlikely ‘Sliding Door’ style coincidences conspired to connect them and their initial chance meeting in Stockholm was clearly meant to be, for as the saying goes.. ‘When one door closes another opens’…
The atmosphere of their Italian destination wedding in Tuscany was exuberant. I found myself lost in thought on the journey home and moved to reflect upon the unfortunate tendency we sometimes have to take those we love for granted…
It’s obvious but life really is a gift to be cherished.. Johnny’s expression on seeing Charlotte during that first moment as a Bride truly makes my heart sing!
