IMportant advice to couples
Important - Weather Conditions:
If your ceremony is due to take place between mid June and early August it would be extremely wise to avoid the hours between 12 noon – 6pm.
Recent feedback from couples, photographers and musicians has been very useful. The consensus of opinion is that everyone feels and looks much better from 6pm onwards… !
The light is much more flattering for photos and the temperature more pleasant for everyone… Therefore all the expense of hiring a professional hairdresser and make-up artist will not be in vain… and your photographer will be so relieved that he/she won’t have to take shots of you dabbing your red and sweating faces… or fanning yourselves to stay cool… ;)
Your Celebrants will also be immensely grateful for your thoughtfulness☺
It is always a good idea too to ensure that the venue has an alternative in case of bad weather. You can never predict the weather with surety and storms can occur even during the summer!
Delivery of Readings:
We are pleased that couples include guests by asking them to perform readings and actively encourage this but would urge couples to ensure that readers are not given their pieces at the last minute. Instead they should be informed well in advance and asked to practice reciting them... Reading is an art and it is important to really feel the words before you and mean them... a badly performed reading or poem can easily deflate the emotional intensity of ceremony!
